Site Manager

(and Assistant)

You are responsible for ensuring that the site is kept clean and organized. This means that the beach area is kept clean, outhouses are maintained, all garbage is put away and the outsides of buildings and walkways are clean. You are also responsible for handling the boat and equipment rental program, which includes cleaning and repairing fiberglass and plastic sea kayaks and canoes, assisting customers, tracking boat rentals and keeping the equipment shed in a clean and organized condition on a daily basis. Site tasks also include general construction jobs and repairs, plumbing, landscaping, cutting and stacking wood, and other jobs. You may also assist as required with vehicle shuttles, office, store and lodge work. And with suitable qualifications, you may also be involved with basic sea kayak instruction, daily and multi-day guiding, school outdoor programs and voyageur canoe trips.

Desired qualifications:

Experience with outdoor adventure and paddlesports industry—repair and retail.
Good general maintenance, construction and repair experience, especially in the paddling and renovation fields.
Ability to supervise, take initiative, and to set and achieve work goals with minimal supervision.
Driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to drive standard transmission (F class license is an asset).
Good human relations and customer service approach.

If you also wish to also be a sea kayak guide and instructor, you will require:

Wilderness first aid certification.
Paddling Canada level I or greater sea kayak paddling skills (certification not necessary).
Current AECSKO certification or equivalent sea kayak guiding experience.
Camping, canoeing, sea kayaking and hiking experience.

Salary:

Minimum wage to $13/hour based on experience in the field and with Naturally Superior Adventures. Salary includes meals and tent site accommodations.
