Lodge Manager

Working in a home-style kitchen and four-room lodge, a diverse position responsible for assisting with the preparation of healthy, eco-friendly and flavourful meals for staff and guests, as well as helping with lodge housekeeping duties. Duties include:

  • Managing the day to day running of the lodge
  • Being accountable for lodge budget
  • Assisting the lodge chef with meal planning, shopping and clean-up
  • Assisting the lodge chef with meal preparation for groups of two to 60
  • Planning, preparing and cleaning up after meals when the lodge chef is away
  • Housekeeping and cleaning with the aid of a lodge assistant


Desired qualifications:

  • The desire to learn and gain experience working in the kitchen of a small eco-lodge
  • Interest and experience with eco-friendly cooking practice. Familiarity with organic foods, and environmentally sound approaches to kitchen cleaning and waste management
  • Training and/or experience in preparing healthy, nutritious and creative meals for environmentally aware, outdoor enthusiasts, including those with dietary restrictions, such as vegetarians, vegans, lactose-intolerance and food allergies
  • Experience working in a small lodge/kitchen environment
  • Highly organized and clean working habits suitable for open kitchen operations
  • Able to work very flexible daily hours to meet all meal demands
  • Friendly, service oriented manner

Salary: Minimum wage to $13/hour based on experience in the field and with Naturally Superior Adventures.  Salary includes meals and tent site accommodations.  Opportunities exist to sit in on instruction, borrow equipment and join guided sea kayak trips on days off.

Start Date: Mid to late May (early June at the latest).

End Date:  Early Sept at the earliest with opportunity to stay on until October.
