Working in a homestyle kitchen and four-room lodge, you are responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for staff (two to 20) and clients (two to 40), including those with dietary restrictions such as vegetarians, vegans, lactose-intolerance and food allergies. You will be expected to plan and enforce a spending budget of approximately $8 per person day by working with bulk suppliers and our local grocery store. Client meals include fresh fish barbecues served buffet-style at our lodge. It is critical that you keep the kitchen area spotlessly clean, including the countertops, tables, serving area, floors, stove and refrigerator. You are also responsible for keeping the trip food room well stocked, clean and organized, and you may assist with trip food planning and packing. During busy periods other staff will assist you.

Desired qualifications:

Interest and experience with eco-lodge operations including organic foods, and environmentally sound approaches to kitchen cleaning and handling kitchen waste.
Training and/or experience preparing healthy, nutritious and creative meals for outdoor enthusiasts in a cost-effective manner.
Experience working in small lodge environment feeding staff and clients.
Experience planning cost-effective meals and ordering food from suppliers in advance.
Highly organized and clean working habits suitable for open kitchen operations.
Able to work very flexible daily hours to meet all meal demands.

Salary:

Minimum wage to $13/hour based on experience in the field and with Naturally Superior Adventures. Salary includes meals and tent site accommodations.
