Is this Paddle Canada Level 3 sea kayak skills course right for you?

If you just graduated from level 2 this course is not for you (yet). To get the most from the course you’ll want to have done extended trips of 2 or more days totaling 10 overnights. You’ve paddled in waves and occasionally in surf up to metre. Your technical paddling skills and rescues are pretty dialed. You have a roll or are close to having one. You may already have certifications in wilderness first aid, VHF radio, swimming and life saving.

You are looking to further hone your technical paddling and paddle camping skills and work on trip leadership skills including scenarios.

To Paddle Canada Certify or to not Paddle Canada Certify? That is the Question!

Our objective is to provide you with skills required to safely and effectively lead a group of paddlers in exposed, open water conditions on a multi-day trip. You will be assessed based on your potential to plan for and lead a multi-day sea kayak journey along a moderately exposed coast in challenging conditions (waves up to one meter, winds up to 20 knots, current up to three knots).

If certification is not important to you, great. Rest assured, you’ll be getting top notch instruction from qualified instructors who love sharing their passion for paddling with you.
