Evaluation
Our objective is to provide
you with skills required to safely and effectively lead a group of paddlers in
exposed, open water conditions on a multi-day trip. Those wishing to attain certification
will be assessed based on their potential to plan for and lead a multi-day sea
kayak journey along a moderately exposed coast in challenging conditions (waves
up to one metre, winds up to 20 knots, current up to three knots). The ability
to roll is essential.
This
course is for paddlers with solid skills looking for advanced training in
leadership, rescue and expedition planning. Arrive prepared for wilderness
camping. Camping gear, paddling tops and wetsuits are provided. The course schedule may be subject to change
according to weather and water conditions and safety requirements.
