Enjoy laid back soul surfin’ or intense ender sessions in the freshwater surf playground at the mouth of the Michipicoten River. This informal gathering of surf-seeking intermediate to advanced paddlers takes advantage of autumnal gales and late summer warm water to provide an informal, instructional and by all means entertaining way to cap off your paddling season in early October. You’ll be wishing the weekend will never end.

Lake Superior surf kayak festival
Besides fantastic surf, excellent meals, great entertainment, first-rate camaraderie and a non-intimidating environment are the hallmarks of the Surfing Superior Confluence. Non-paddlers are welcome to share in the excitement by watching from shore. For outdoor action sports photographers, the Surf Confluence is a dream come true. Registration includes a beach campsite and hearty, home-cooked meals at Rock Island Lodge, and a Saturday night house concert.
