Introduction to Moving Water Canoeing
This 2-day course is designed for paddlers with flatwater canoe skills to transition into paddling on basic or Class 1 rapids. Key objectives of this Paddle Canada certified course are to understand the dynamics and reading moving water, boat control and moving water strokes and water safety. Two course locations; one in Sault Ste Marie and one in Wawa.
Intro Lake Canoe Skills
This one-day course meets Ontario government requirements for canoe training for outdoor workers. Topics include canoe safety, tandem forward, reverse and turning strokes as well as deep water rescues. We offer the course on-demand at our locations or as requested across Northern Ontario.
Intro Lake Canoe Instructor
This Paddle Canada certified Basic Tandem Canoe Instructor course is an intensive 4-day program designed to provide you with a strong foundation of paddling skills and teaching techniques/practice required to be an effective tandem canoe instructor.
White Water Instructor
This is normally the entry point into the Paddle Canada Moving Water Instructor program. As such, the fundamentals of instruction and group management receive considerable emphases during this course. Successful candidates receive the Introduction to Tandem or Solo Moving Water Canoeing Instructor certification.
Lake Instructor Certification Maintenance Clinic
This maintenance clinic is designed to help hone your practical skills and teaching techniques and recertify you as an active Paddle Canada instructor for four years.
